Studio Time

Well, that was the next one! The past few days in the studio we used entirely to record a song called ‘Prison yell’, and it will probably end up on our next album. It’s the first song we ever recorded that has a 5/8 time signature. Just making sure you know it ;)

Enough musical technicalities. The master plan we’re currently working on is actually turning into something really interesting. Logically, we can’t really get into details about this subject, but it all looks very promising. Ritzo turned out to be great motivator, full of ideas, and a good critical factor in terms of supplying feedback, which is very good.

Another thing on our calendar is the Lopend Vuur gig at the Vera Club, March 14. We’re looking forward to playing in our hometown of Groningen again, and also to performing some new songs. Make sure you are there, not only to see us, but some other fine bands too!

We are a movie

Just to let you all know that we really do exist, here's another videolink. It's a short 1-song acoustic performance for a local upcoming tv-show. The song is called 'You are a movie'.

We already recorded this one with Canadian friends from Great Lake Swimmers. If your interested enough, I also made a short video about our time in the studio. Check it out on Youtube. If you look closely you will finally understand why we love a good monkey-knife-fight so much.... really!

Making a masterplan

So we are making a new record and that's nice, we like that. I can think of no better reason to actually make a record anyway. It will take us a while but that's good. It gives us more time to actually think about the whole story that surrounds our music. Despite the fact that we have always tried to come up with a plan or a story, in reality such ideas are hard to maintain. This time we are pondering on a storyline that will immerse the listener in our world.

People help. Well, they really do help us. Yesterday evening we spent some quality time with our friend Ritzo ten Cate from www.deondernemers.nl . He is helping us to become more of an entrepeneur. Although this might seem to deviate from our path of 'just making music' it actually gives us an insight in our own plans, hopes, dreams and maybe fears?
